How Sara found balance between business & motherhood

Meet Sara Servan, the creative mind behind Sara Servan Studio, a branding and design studio helping small businesses create bold, personality-driven brands.

Sara started her business for the freedom and flexibility—to surf when she wanted, to design her own days. When she became a mum to Leo, that flexibility became even more important. She wanted to keep growing her business while being present with her son.

That’s when she found CoWork Crèche.

My name is Sara, and I run Sara Servan Studio, a branding and design studio where I help small businesses create bold, personality-driven brands that stand out and connect with their audience.

I started my business for the flexibility—so I could design my days around the things I love, like fitting in a surf whenever I want. Now, as a mum, that flexibility means I can work when I can and still be present with my son, Leo.

A typical workday for us starts with morning cuddles and breakfast, then heading to CoWork Crèche, where I can dive into client work while Leo plays happily with Steph and Sonia. On the days we don’t come in, I mix work with fun at home and squeeze in a few hours during nap times.

Becoming a parent has made me so much more efficient—I can get more done in a few focused hours than I ever thought possible! That’s why CoWork Crèche has been such a perfect fit. I wasn’t ready for Leo to go to daycare when he was only 6 months old, but I still needed a space to focus on my business without distractions. Here, I’ve had the best of both worlds—working close to him, continuing breastfeeding, and knowing he’s cared for and thriving just a room away.

The biggest difference I’ve noticed since joining is how confident and independent Leo has become. Because we started so early, he doesn’t struggle with separation anxiety—he’s learned to explore and play with others while knowing I’m nearby. It’s been the perfect transition into daycare, and I’ve been able to keep my business running for six months while being a full-time mum.

To any parent considering CoWork Crèche, I’d say: it’s such a gift. It’s ideal for those who want to be close to their little ones while still having the time and headspace to focus on work. It’s also such a beautiful environment for kids—especially around 6 months to 1 year—as they start building independence while feeling secure that mum or dad is close.

And finally, my favourite part? The community. It’s such a relief and a joy to share this stage of life with other parents who are going through the same things.”
